Alfon from Madrid is still in jail after the 14N strike

Alfon is a 21 year old activist from Vallecas (Madrid) who was arrested on the morning of the 14th of November general strike. Along with him, Daira was also arrested, although she was freed some hours later after court appearance. Alfon was taken to the Soto del Real prison where he has been held since then under the FIES regime, meaning he is constantly under heavy surveillance and intimidating measures. Below is a statement by the group of support.

On 14N, day of the general strike, our comrade Alfon was arrested in the neighborhood of Vallekas. After several days of solitary confinement and interrogation in the dungeons of the Spanish State, he was sent to jail under preventive detention, due to higher orders given by the judiciary and the government delegation, to which we should add the pressure of the mass media.

This whole network has the purpose of intimidating militants and the people in general, since they know that the political, social and economic situation will just further degenerate and wish to end the struggle by using the dictatorship of fear.

We can not fall into the trap of judging our comrade, we do not care whether he is guilty or innocent of the charges against him, he is a political prisoner, whose only crime is fighting against this capitalist system which day after day forces families to the wildest exploitation.

The only condemnable violence is the one employed by the state, banks and its repressive forces who beat and detain people at demonstrations, who guard and protect bailiffs that execute home evictions, imprison and torture revolutioners for life…
In short, by any means possible they will attempt to destrot any inciative of popular resistance.

Against the state and its violence, now and forever, RESISTANCE!

FREEDOM for the political prisoners!

Incendiary attack on an office of the national service of (un)employment in Madrid

In the night of Monday, November 19th, an incendiary device was placed at the entrance of an office of the traditional National Institute of Employment (INEM)* in the Madrid neighbourhood of Prosperidad. This location was chosen because it is considered a factory of daily humiliation, disillusion and routine. Because of that thick tedium breathed in that or any other unemployment office. It was chosen because they are killing us, and those left alive are offered the scraps.

Apart from claiming our dignity, this action shows physically our discouragement, our lack of hope, our grudge and our hate that can be found in our eyes and in those of all the other people who travel with us in the subway in the morning.

Indeed, the action was carried out by the intern who goes back home every single day with a feeling of humiliation clouding her eyes, by the worker who spends three times more time with her coworkers than with her partner, by the unemployed who prays for not being called for a job in the whole damn life, by the young mother who does not know how the fuck she will feed her kids if they are kicked off the house where they are living…

The next action can be carried out by you any night.
Fuck them and their jobs.
To spread anger with ink, stones and petrol.

Antifascist gathering in Madrid against Greece’s Golden Dawn

On November 18th at 11am in the morning, Nick VH, responsible for External Relations of the Greek nazi party Golden Dawn, will be giving a speech at the Hotel Madrid Centro. Golden Dawn is a nazi party that is completely allowed by police and state to act, as they form part of the Greek political system and have won enough seats in elections to be represented at the Parliament, with all that this implies (total impunity and legitimacy to act in any way as well as political and financial support to develop their campaigns, speeches and actions).

One of its members intends to come to Madrid to give a lecture on his party, and from the Madrid antifascist movement, we launch an antifascist alert and call people to go to face them and get them. We won’t allow them to carry out this act in Madrid, or at least not in a normal way. Let’s make it clear that they are not welcome here.

On November 18 at 11 am in front of the Hotel Madrid Centro (Mauricio Legendre street, 16).

ORGANISE YOURSELF, COME AND SPREAD!
MADRID ANTIFASCIST NOW AND ALWAYS!

Demonstration in Madrid against the State repression

A demonstration has been called in Madrid for October 20 against the repression suffered by social movements since the beginning of the May 15M movement back in 2011 or generally since the capitalist crisis started. Below is the statement calling for the demontrations.

The crisis of the capitalist system has been getting worse over the past four years, laying on our shoulders the heavy burden of their crisis through harsh measures.

In order to deactivate and fight labour mobilizations, identifications, arrests, fines have increased, the struggle is criminalized, police-legal set-ups are invented, repression against workers in the workplace, imprisonment, draft amendments to the penal code, illegalisations, ill-treatment, torture, new techniques of social control as video surveillance, communication interventions, creation of political militancy databases, cops infiltrations, racist raids, evictions, etc.. That is, a series of repressive measures aimed at stopping the workers’ struggle and it preventing it from extending to the whole society.

The end of this crisis is each day more far away, it gets worse every day, and so are is the austerity and the repression. Since this is a time in which the conditions for emancipatory projects materializing are given, the State does its best to spread fear throughout society and to avoid these conditions for the change being created.

Our dutiy as the only affected ones by these measures is the mobilization and the struggle. But this should not be done in isolated groups, but instead unity should be looked for. We believe that creating duplication in meetings, speeches, demonstrations, only makes us lose momentum. Therefore we call all kinds of social, political, trade union or other type of organisation to join against the repression in order to make, among other things, a large demonstration by the downtown streets of Madrid demanding the end of the repression to our class. Since it is an issue that affects us all us, we must be defend ourselves together and we should do it immediately.

Some numbers provided by the Legal Commission of Sol, which collected numbers on repression during the past year and a half: (Ed. note: only in Madrid)

Over 200 arrests recorded: in demonstrations (over 30 in the latest demonstration on September 25th), civil disobedience actions, evictions, strike pickets, occupations, etc… The most common charges are offenses on assault against authority, disobedience and resistance, public disorder, damage and offenses against the worker’s rights.

More than 700 administrative fines, the final amount from May 2011 to May 2012 would be of 217,800 euros. Hundreds of attacks, of which many of them have not been notified. Most cases are still under investigation, so it is necessary to pay attention to calls and show our solidarity with repressed people.

The only decent solution for the working class is unity and struggle.
Against repression, solidarity! If we touch they touch one of us, they touch all of us!

CSOA Casablanca quat in Madrid is evicted

Below is a brief statement from the assembly of the Casablanca squat in Madrid, which has been evicted in the early hours of today 19th of September. One person was arrested during the eviction, after 100 comrades had started gathering outside the building once the news of the eviction came out. This operation comes just a few days before the action planned around the Spanish parliament next week, and is suspected to be part of the ongoing repressive operations related to that upcoming demonstration. La Rimaia free university in Barcelona was also evicted back in May just one week before the May 12 demonstrations.

The assembly of the CSOA Casablanca, due to the eviction with no prior warning, in the morning of today 19th of September, announces:

Russian antifascist arrested in Madrid

It has been reported that russian antifascist Pjotr Silajev has been detained in Madrid, here is a report about his current situation:

Russian writer and antifascist Pjotr Silajev is still arrested in Madrid. Silajev had been granted a political asylum in Finland early this year. The Finnish embassy in Madrid has said that Silajev can be kept arrested for 40 days!

The Spanish police arrested Silajev in Granada because of request from Interpol on the 21st of august. Contrary to the expectations, he was not released in a trial in Madrid on the 22nd of august, even though the Finnish embassy had provided all the papers concerning his asylum and right to stay in the country. The court wouldnt comment the case. The Spanish police said that he only had a Russian passport when he was arrested. It is not clear how the Finnish state will react to the arrest.

The Moscow Times interviewed Tanya Lokshina from The Human Rights Watch, who said that the Spanish state does not have to take into concideration the asylum from Finland and are free to send him back to Russia. This does not seem possible. The Finnish YLE news has interviewed the head of the immigration office Esko Repo who said that all the European Union countries are committed to not sending people to countries where they might face prosecution.

The lawyer of Silajev said the situation looks bad.

The Moscow Times said that the hardening line of the Russian government towards protests can lead to even more cases where people need to flee the country. The case of Silajev can be connected to other cases where people who had fled the country have been tried to be sent back.

Silajev was granted asylum from Finland in april of this year. The reason was the continuing political prosecution in Russia. The Russian Federation wants him convicted for demonstrations against a highway in the Khimki region outside Moscow. Among other protests, the house of the city council was attacked and some people throw stones and fireworks in the building in 2010.

The hunt of Silajev seems to be the last resort for the prosecutor to convict someone from the Khimki protests. Last year Aleksey Gaskarov, who was arrested for months, was releassed of all charges and Maxim Solopov received a two year sentence for hooliganism. The third suspect Denis Solopov has received an asylum from the Netherlands.

The Moscow Times have said that the mayor of Khimki Vladimir Strelchenko resigned last week because of pressure from the new governor of Moscow. Strelchenko is suspected of organising attacks against the protesters who were resisting the building of the highway.

We are asking for solidarity from our comrades in Madrid and other parts of the Spanish state! Support our anarchist and antifascist comrade!

Spread the word!
